The first mass was said years before the first church was built in the small area of Saint Anthony which was originally named Kraintown. Mass was first said in Anton Gogola's home in 1867. In 1872 the construction started on its first log church. The current church building began construction in 1897 and was complete in 1901. Saint Anthony's tall steeple became a landmark and could be seen from many of the farms.
